Futures
Posted by Deutlich on April 27th, 2008 | Filed under: UncategorizedLast night I saw Jimmy Eat World at American University. I could try to explain how good of a time I had, but there’s really no use. I don’t think there are enough words in the English dictionary.
I danced. I jumped. I sang along. I got sweaty.
Oh, and I met Rick. He stood out there with us, in the soaking rain, for a fairly long time. I got to shoot the breeze with this man… right after he rocked my socks off.
It. Was. Awesome.
They played all the stuff I really wanted to hear, something I wasn’t expecting at all. And the following song seriously hits home right now. I’ve been playing it en masse for a week.
I, I always believed in futures
I hope for better in November
I try the same losing lucky numbers
It could be a cold night for a lifetime
Hey now, you can’t keeping saying endlessly
My darling, how long until this affects me?
Say hello to good times
Trade up for the fast ride
We close our eyes while the nickel and dime take the streets completely
I, I always could count on futures
That things would look up, and they look up
Why is it so hard to find balance
Between living decent and the cold and real
Hey now, what is it you think you see?
My darling, now’s the time to disgaree
Say hello to good times
Trade up for the fast ride
We close our eyes while the nickel and dime take the streets completely
Hey now, the past is told by those who win
My darling, what matters is what hasn’t been
Hey now, we’re wide awake and we’re thinking
My darling, believe your voice can mean something
Say hello to good times
Trade up for the fast ride
We close our eyes while the nickel and dime take the streets completely
We close our eyes while the nickel and dime take the streets completely
I hope for better in November
I try the same losing lucky numbers
It could be a cold night for a lifetime
Hey now, you can’t keeping saying endlessly
My darling, how long until this affects me?
Say hello to good times
Trade up for the fast ride
We close our eyes while the nickel and dime take the streets completely
I, I always could count on futures
That things would look up, and they look up
Why is it so hard to find balance
Between living decent and the cold and real
Hey now, what is it you think you see?
My darling, now’s the time to disgaree
Say hello to good times
Trade up for the fast ride
We close our eyes while the nickel and dime take the streets completely
Hey now, the past is told by those who win

BSB…JEW (band not religion)…
You are a seriously powerful groupie.
April 27th, 2008 at 4:00 pm
Let’s not forget Eve, Missy Elliott, Enrique Iglesias, Adam Levine, Tamia, Grant Hill, Pink, NSYNC (minus JT) and a rack load of other people I’m too lazy to mention.
I… have to say though – I hate the word groupie. It connotates a nature of Tour-Whoredness that I do not partake in.
I just get lucky.
That’s all.

Fun times! What song is that? I like the lyrics.
PS- I like your outfit. You’re cute!

Ohhh, I love them! The Middle (I think that’s what it’s called) got me through some really tough times after college.

I super big <3 Jimmy Eat World! I have bought their CD 4 times now because my car gets broken into and they take it, it got lost, or once was stepped on. Totally worth it!

I’m so glad you had a beyond-words-can-describe time.
) I wish you had gotten to meet more of them. Usually they are really good about greeting fans.
Next time.

Brookem – It’s Futures
Friggin’ love that song. It’s going to be my theme song for the next year. And thanks!!
Le Petit Chic – They played that song last and the whole crowd went nuts. Friggin’ awesome.
Essentially Me – Gah! I’m still geeking out about it.
Vanessa – I’m in the midsts of learning all the music ’cause I HATE when I go to shows and can’t sing along to everything… so.. yeah. Workin’ on it.
Ex-Tex – Aww, shucks. ::blush::
Um..Yum – Dude, I am pretty sure that was the fault of those crazed out Paramore fans. I can’t blame them… they were all, like, 12 and just don’t know any better. But if I were J.E.W., I wouldn’t step foot outside either. All the more reason that Rick is effin’ awesome.

look at you! Getting rock stars to hold the umbrella! Hahaha
I’d expect nothing less from you.
April 27th, 2008 at 8:13 pm
Surviving – funny story… that is actually my umbrella. I had set it down on the ground so it wasn’t a big ole distraction for the picture and he was like, “no no! we gotta use the umbrella” or something along those lines. So he picked it up off the floor and voila. So… Long story short? That rockstar really is holding my umbrella for me. I really thought his reaction was beyond adorable.

That’s so awesome he came out to meet you guys! It seems like musicians always look different up close and personal. On stage they are all bigger than life.
April 27th, 2008 at 9:43 pm
OK i had to YouTube this song (and the group) and it’s a pretty catchy song… looove the lyrics.
These are the moments that make up our life

April 27th, 2008 at 11:56 pm
Since your face is blacked out my eyes were immediately drawn to your cleavage. And now I totally have cleavage envy (b/c I have none).

I’m a big fan of Big Casino. They say New Jersey. Thats where I’m from if you didn’t know.
In conclusion I am the inspiration for Jimmy Eat World.

I love concerts. It’s been far too long since I’ve been to one. I’m glad you had a good night!
April 28th, 2008 at 1:45 pm
For reasons I have yet to figure out, I was receiving constant e-mail updates on Jimmy Eat World from some random third party website.
(Also, picture tease!)
April 28th, 2008 at 3:26 pm
I LOVE Jimmy Eat World. I am SO JEALOUS!!! What a great time!! I don’t think I would have survived high school without that band, seriously.
April 28th, 2008 at 5:42 pm
Nothing beats the rush you get after an amazing concert, and the music just plays through your head for days afterwards.
April 29th, 2008 at 12:18 am
I love that song. Glad you had such a good time at the concert! I need to get to some concerts soon – it has been too long.
